1984 – The Band

The band 1984 was founded in 1998, played numerous shows and produced the album “Casual Hello” in 1999 that has now been played and streamed around the world for more than 2 decades. Formed as a 1980’s cover band and entertainment revue, the band took to writing and including original music as part of the show. “Casual Hello” was the album that took the band to the studio and the rest is history. The group has since been disbanded, and members have gone on to lead very different lives, but the music lives on in the digital age. The studio releases and now remastered versions of the original tracks are available and streaming worldwide on all streaming providers.

Matt Matthew Bunch

Matthew “Matt” Bunch​

Bassist and Lead Vocalist
Holding down the bottom end and singing lead vocals for 1984 is Matt Bunch. Matt has had 30 years of professional music experience. Along with countless hours of live performances around the world. Matt also has several recording credits to his name. Matt began his music training at the age of 12 with classical piano. He went on to earn awards at the state and local level by age 14, and began performing with bands by age 18.

Jean Pierre Espil

Drummer
Keeping the beat and watching the meter is Pete Espil. With a drumming style that can only be described as powerful, Pete is the backbone of 1984. Pete has been playing drums for 10 years and still practices religiously to keep his chops in top form. Pete has performed with several groups in recent years, and prides himself on his own personal style and technique. As well as being a musician Pete also holds several Boxing Titles to his name.

Jason Ramsey​

Lead Guitarist
Tearing it up on the lead guitar, and rocking the microphone on vocals is Jason Ramsey. With many hours of performance and several Recording credits, Jason is a vital part of 1984. At age 15 he began learning how to play and by age 17 was performing in a band for his peers. That group went on to record two albums and gain some national interest from producers and record companies.
